Hummus

Hummus

"The classic dip that is a guaranteed buy in the supermarket - why not try making your own? Tastier, smoother and of course a lot healthier, this recipe will make you never want to buy it again!"

  • 200g chickpeas
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • Juice of 1 ½ lemons
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp tahini  
  • paprika 
  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight 
  2. Drain the chick peas, place them in a saucepan and cover with fresh water.
  3. Bring them to the boil, simmer until soft.
  4. Run the chick peas under cold water until cool and then drain.
  5. Using a food processor blend all the ingredients adding a little cooled, boiled water as you go until you are left with a smooth creamy paste
  6. Remove from the mixing bowl and season to taste.
  7. Garnish with whole chickpeas and paprika for a kick!
