Gingerbread Balls

Gingerbread Balls

"All the taste of Christmas, with zero guilt! A great present for gym buddies or a little festive treat for the family." 

  • 15 pitted medjool dates
  • 120g almond meal
  • 1-inch knob of ginger
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup 
  • water
  1. Peel and grate the fresh ginger.
  2. Add all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and pulse slowly, adding a little water to make the mix come together.
  3. A dough like texture should start to form, keep pulsing until all ingredients is ground and mixed evenly. 
  4. Take the dough out of the blender and kneed with your hands to make sure all the ingredients are mixed through.
  5. Take small handfuls of the mixture and roll into little balls using both hands, put to one side when finished. 
  6. Repeat until all dough has been used. 
  7. Place in the fridge for 2-3 hours. 
  8. Decorate however you wish, be creative! We love making them into little christmas puddings or a little dusting of icing sugar looks great.
